The weekend after Chris became a citizen, I threw him a surprise party at Black Finn. If you know Chris, he has been talking about never have had a birthday party for as long as I can remember. I thought this would be a perfect oppportunity to celebrate his success and give him the party he had always wanted! Also, the days following his ceremony, Chris had been giving me the hardest time about not doing anything special for his citizenship. He was trying to make me feel so guilty, I could hardly wait until Saturday! After the party, he felt really bad :)
Everything worked out perfectly, and pretty much everyone that was invited was able to come. Leslie and my mom were in charge of decorating and they did a great job. Who knew all of my 4th of July party decorations would come in handy in January!
Chris was so surprised and so touched to see how many people came to his party. We had a great time celebrating his accomplishment!
