Making progress in the nursery

We have been working in Georgia's room little-by-little for the past couple of weeks. I finally came to my senses with her bedding and found a set that both Chris and I could agree on. I had looked and looked and hadn't found anything, but for some reason when we were at the store last time buying the stroller we took one last look and found i! I was getting really stressed about choosing the fabric and designing her bedding myself, so it was a huge relief to find something already made. When we moved into our house, we had paid someone to paint our bedrooms, so we thought it would be crazy to paint an entire room pink, which is the same color we had the painters cover up. We decided to just paint the wall that the crib is against, and I love it. The other walls are a neutral and go perfectly with the pink and the bedding. We took a piece of the bedding to match the paint, and it is the exact color. From the beginning I was adamant that I wanted a more subtle pink instead of the bright bubble gum pink that is used in most nurseries. The paint is more like a rose/mauve and is exactly what we had in mind. I also decided to get crafty and got the brilliant idea of making the letters for her name to go above her crib. I just bought the G to see how that went. Two hours later I love how the letter turned out, but I am not sure I have it in me to do the other six letters. I have already looked online and I have found a lady who makes letters at a great price. Still haven't decided what I want to do yet! The room is starting to come together, there are just a couple more accessories to buy. Georgia will be here before we know it!

Thanksgiving 2009

We spent Thanksgiving at my dad's house this year. We ate lots of good food and had fun reliving old stories. I feel like I ate more in three days than I have for three months! I was responsible for bringing the cranberries this year, and they were a big hit (even though Chris didn't eat any of them!) After the meal was finished my dad got in his Santa suit to take pictures with Harper and Madison. Three more weeks until Christmas break, the countdown begins!

Doctor's Visit

Yesterday I went to another sono and doctor's appointment. The sono went great. Georgia had all of her anatomy checked and everything is developing just as it should. She is a little chunkster, weighing in at one pound and 10 inches. According to her measurements she is weighing in at 21 weeks 6 days, so my doctor moved my due date up to April 1st. Which means I turned 21 weeks today! I made it very clear to Dr. Luck that I will not be having an April Fool's baby!

I think I am finally starting to feel her in there. I thought the time would never come!

On a side note, yesterday was also my half-birthday. Most people think I am crazy for celebrating, but it is something my family has always done. Chris surprised me with the Glee soundtrack which is so much fun to listen to. He also gave me some really sweet cards and picked out all the green skittles (my favorite) for me out of the package.

Thanksgiving break is almost here and I am SOOOO excited. It will be so nice to be able to sleep in and actually get things done around the house.

Aubrey's Baby Shower

Today was Aubrey's baby shower. It was a couple's shower and we had so much fun. I have known Aubrey since elementary school, so we have basically grown up together. I actually met Chris at her bachelorette party! She is eight weeks ahead of me, so it is fun to compare stories and ask her questions. I can't wait to meet Mr. Mason. He and Georgia are going to be best buddies. The Proud Parents!

Canton

Last weekend, my mom, sister, and I went to Canton for the day. The weather was beautiful and we found lots of stuff for Georgia's Nursery. I am in BIG trouble if we find out at our 20 week sono that she is actually a HE. I am not too worried though because our last sono pics were pretty convincing and our sono tech has been saying she was a girl since about 11 weeks! I decided to go with a Shabby Chic look using birds and birdhouses as an accent. Sounds crazy but so far I am loving how it is coming together! Here are some of the things that I found in Canton....

Some silk peonies as accents

I plan on hanging wooden birds and
other ornamental pieces from this metal tree

I fell in love with this Sconce!

Here is some of the fabric I plan on using. They only had 2 yards so I bought it all. I am also pretty sure this is the color we are going to paint one of the walls. You can't tell in the picture but the rose paint goes perfectly with the fabric.

This couldn't be more perfect for the room

Bump Watch

I am 18 weeks today and the bump has definitely made an appearance!

Halloween '09

This was the first Halloween that we were actually home to hand out candy at our house. I was amazed by how many kids showed up. We ran out of candy, and I thought I had bought extra! After handing out candy, we went to a Halloween party with my friends Brittany and Stephanie. It was fun, but I got tired pretty early on and was ready to leave by midnight. What a party pooper! It is crazy to think that next year we will be dressing up Georgia for her first Halloween. Until then, we forced our dogs into costumes. Scottie was not thrilled. They are so cute!

Pumpkin Carving

Chris and I had gone to the pumpkin patch two weeks ago, and found the PERFECT pumpkin. We were waiting until it got a little bit closer to Halloween before we carved it. We decided tonight was the night! Chris ended up doing most of the work because it was the thickest pumpkin ever. I think we got in a little over our heads with the monster pattern...I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

We're Pregnant

What better way to start my blog, then by announcing our big news. As of today, I am 17 weeks pregnant. My due date is April 4th (Easter Sunday), and Chris and I can't wait! I am in my second trimester and feel great. I was pretty lucky to not experience a whole lot of morning sickness in the first weeks, but I was definitely tired! We found out Friday that we are having a little girl and have already picked out the name. We can't wait to meet Georgia Lyn! During the sonogram, we got to see Georgia moving around and even sucking her thumb. I guess she is already taking after her mama! I spent the whole weekend looking at nursery ideas and I am pretty sure I have figured out what I want to do.

Georgia found her hand!

She has got some long legs

Definitely a girl!
